LAWRENCE DELBRIDGE Obituary

DELBRIDGE, Lawrence L., passed away August 1, 2011. He was predeceased in death by his parents, Thomas E. and Susie E. Delbridge; three brothers, Dallas E., Curtis E., and Milton A. Delbridge; three sisters, Ruby D. Abernathy, Jessie D. Phillips and Frances D. Smith and beloved wife, Bertha Doyle Delbridge. Surviving are his sisters, Theresa D. Buckner of Richmond, Va. and Mary Ann D. Jenkins of Chester, Va.; 13 nieces and nephews; three nieces, Pam Low, Debbie Mashburn and Kay Bryant; two nephews, David Webb and Barry Grizzard and wife, Nancy, which he thought of as his children. He is also survived by his wife, Dorothy Moore Bass Coleman Delbridge; stepson, Robert F. Coleman and Natalie; step- grandchildren, Matthew Coleman and Morissa Elizabeth Coleman; and a special friend, Connie Johnson. Lawrence was a World War II Navy Veteran, lifetime VFW member and worked for Slate and Spivey Construction for 48 years. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Echols Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad or Main Street Baptist Church.
