My Prayers are with you Alma and Donny. I have no words to express my sympathy I have for you both. Roger touched so many adults and their children. His encouragement to my son, Levi, means the world to him and I will never forget that cute connection he had with Kaitlyn when she was only 3. Our family is here for you both no matter what you need.

Alma and Donny,
This is Luke's Grandma (Jamie's Mom) in Illinois. I remember meeting you when I visited Albuquerque and coming to your home..watching the boys play in the batting cage and having fun at Donny's birthday party with the magician. I know Luke learned so much about playing baseball from Roger. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Hold on to those special memories and Jesus' promise, that you will see Roger again. Love and prayers. Bobbie Bardier

Roger - your good friend misses you badly considering we were going to get together after your return from Tuscon - the time and compassion you showed my son "Reedo" will inspire him for the 3 baseball seasons and in his future endeavors - we are so glad we saw you in Tuscon last week and felt your spirit, which was always larger than life. Be happy for eternity,my friend when I hope we shall reunite for a throwing session

My sympathies go out to all of Roger's friends and family. He will be missed by many. He was always so cheerful here at the office, and it was obvious that his family meant the world to him.

For the first time in a long while I am at a loss for words. Mr. Sands was one awesome Dad and friend. In the short amount of time I got to know him his compassion was immeasurable. I will certainly miss him and his wisdom, his laughter, his sincerity, his honesty, and his friendship. Donny your father was a hero to my son Doni as well and always gave encouragement no matter the time or day... Been praying for y'all and know that this world is temporary and knowing Roger as God fearing man, we will see him again. Blessings family...

My heart and prayers go out to the family and friends of Roger Sands. The memories I will always have from little league baseball and the fun of being Roger's catcher will forever live on. Roger had a major league curve ball that would make any kid buckle at 12 years old. You were a great teammate and i will forever miss you.

Alma, Donny, and family -
We are all so saddened by your loss. The image of Roger sitting in his lawn chair behind the outfield fence, watching the boys play baseball will remain with us always. May God comfort you during this time, and know that we are lifting you up in our prayers. We love you all.
