MARIE CLARE SLATTERY (Age 78)
On Wednesday, April 10, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late William J. Slattery; mother of Katie (Joe) Lemen, Sharon (Chris) Zinn, Stephen (Julieta) Slattery and Brian (Lisa) Slattery; grandmother of Abby, Becky and Greta Zinn and Karen and Morgan Slattery; sister of Edward (Patricia) T. Dillon and James A. Dillon. Sister-in-law of Margaret (John) Carroll. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 10103 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Monday, April 15, at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Following the interment, the family will be receiving relatives and friends at the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Rosenteel Council, 9707 Rosensteel Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910 until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 4200 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC 20017 or Glenwood Swim and Dive Team, P.O. I admired Marie from the moment I met her and I'm grateful for the time spent with her at the beach last summer. She will be missed by all who knew her. Thoughts & prayers go out to all the family & friends. God bless.

Dublin Drive will not be the same without Marie. We will miss chatting about her beautiful plants (her ficas, rhododendron and new weeping cherry!), stories about her cool cat Cruiser,as well as stories about her bike rides and ski outings. A sad loss for the neighbors and the family. Our deepest sympathy to Marie's family.
