You are in our thoughts and prayers. Steve's tenderness is what I remember being one of the younger cousins. I also remember his love for dogs! Grateful for his life. Hoping to see you Demetra, Alex and Tim as well as have the opportunity to meet Sarah.

I have been a close friend of the Koning/Collia family for decades at the DC Christian Reformed Church. This has been a terrible shock to all of us who knew and loved Steve. To me, he was the brother I never had, and I was the sister he never had. Whether gathering at his home for meals or New Year's Eve parties, going out to eat or listening to jazz, Steve always made me feel like part of the family. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Demetra, Alex, Sarah and her family, and Tim.

I was surprised and saddened to hear the news of Steve's passing. Next week I'll be in DC with a group of students from my Oakland, California school. Steve was on my list of folks to check in with. I know you'll be there with us in spirit, Steve, and that you'll give the best tour ever! You are missed. Your family is in my thoughts.

Dear Koning family,
Firstly allow me to express my deepest condolences on your tragic loss. I am a colleague of Steve’s and for the past two years had the esteemed privilege of interviewing those he worked with to prepare his annual assessment. I would like to share with you some of the glowing feedback I recently received about Steve in the hope that this will provide you with a small glimmer into his professional life at Booz Allen and the extremely high regard everyone he worked with had for him:
Steven had an extraordinarily good year. The accomplishment of his team cannot be stated strongly enough in preparation for the Firm to go public and the auditors specifically wanted to express their appreciation to Steve and shared how good he is to work with. Steve is extremely knowledgeable and was recognized by colleagues, peers, direct reports and management for staying involved, being available, and always providing valuable and multi-dimensional perspectives whether they are solving a simple outage or a complex project, approaching the issue from the technology, the Firm and the end user perspectives. Words his colleagues use to describe Steve and his contribution include ‘spectacular’, ‘the Firm is lucky to have him’, ‘extremely well versed’, and ‘understands the infrastructure almost better than any other person in the Firm’.

Steve was a kind and wonderful person. As a sale person at EMC for 23 years,.what makes me love my job the most is when I come across people like Steve. He handled everything with such grace and humor. I enjoyed going to BAH to see Steve and his team since they were more like friends then customers. We all shared good times together that we will all remember. My prayers and sympathy go out to the family

Steve was a dear firend... I have known Steve while working on his datacenter relocation in 2009. Since then, we build a professional relationship that turned into a friendship. He nick named me MOOMAD, and I have been tagged since. Everytime we met we shared laughters and stories from our personal life. He is a man who touched my heart and I am sure everyone attests to that. His humble and fun character and his good deeds will always be in my heart as a nice memory to remember. While it is a sad news, he is no longer with us, but I lookforward to meet him in the after life... Steve you will always be in my heart..
