I knew Charlie for 65 years, and he added to each and every one of them. He was best man at Jim's and my wedding. His and Carolyn's friendship, laughter, children, all have added immensely to our lives. Much love. My thoughts are with you all. Betty

We didn't have the privilege of meeting or knowing Mr. Alexander.
However, the words above (and these remembrances) tell the story of a man who heard and answered a life-long calling to justice and service. The ultimate measure of a man, said Dr. Martin Luther King, 'is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.'
It is an unmistakable fact that Mr. Alexander and members of his immediate and extended family whom we know well, are without a doubt, cut from the same cloth.
To Mrs. Alexander - please know you, Charles and your whole family remain in our thoughts and prayers.
From a headstone in Ireland: '˜Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal'
With deepest sympathies,
David Margolis

I worked with Charlie in the Tax Division for the first 11 years of my time there. He was a great mentor and friend. He was a fine attorney, with a wonderful sense of humor. I still miss him.
