Well my dearest Amanda, it has been a year now that we lost you and your dad, my husband, Ted. It has certainly been difficult for me as well as for Mary and Melora. Know one knows when the pain and the heartache will go away or when it gets easier. They tell me it's different for everyone. I do know that some days are better than others. It's just a daily process. I want you to know that when I ache for your Dad, I ache for you as well. The only thing that makes me smile is knowing that you are there with him and sharing all of those memories. I miss you both, but I know you are keeping each other company, and the laughter is flowing. Only God knows why he wanted you both at home together, so we won't question him. Just know that you will forever be in my heart. God Bless you Amanda, keep a close eye on my Ted and give him a kiss for me. Love you!

I was just reading a comment made by Ken Cook at the time of Amanda's passing.

Her philosophy was the same as mine: we treated everybody the same, the camera person, the writers, the editors. She got along great with everyone. She smiled a lot.

My late mother taught me to treat everyone the same. She said it was, "the mark of a lady," and she didn't use that term loosely.

Ms. Davis was a true lady, and I'm still so sad she has passed.

I hope her loved ones have gotten some comfort from the outpouring of love and sympathy from so many people.

Amanda, when I heard of what had happened to you, I was so sad because I knew you from fox 5, and when I would meet you at various receptions throughout metro Atlanta, I would always give you a hug.

I would always say to you that you were so beautiful and when I visited you at the funeral home, I said to my wife she is still beautiful.

You were a spirited person and I am going to miss the woman that had a good heart for children.

You have now been received into the arms of God who will take you to your new home in HEAVEN.

One day I will see you again and I promise you that I am going to give you a very big hug.

Your death is a reminder that we must get our affairs in order because we cannot postpone death. If one does not have a cardiologist, one need to get one to better understand how a stroke or heart attack can be a very silence killer.

Until we see each other again, rest in peace.

Amanda Davis you are a true Angel who will be missed by many more than you'll evet know but I do know this-your labor here on earth was not in vain. I met you a few times and must say I've always gotten the same sweet and caring person each time. And the last time we met again was March of 2017 at Ms Clayton's private party you participated as an emcee. We took pictures and again-still this sweet, dear lady who said with such a beautiful smile I'd love to take a picture with you beautiful ladies-when it was my friend and I who were honored to be in your presence. Don't stop smiling and I know you're reporting only good news in heaven. Rest in heaven and say hi to my beloved grandmother. You are already missed and I'll always cherish our picture.

Atlanta has lost an amazing local news legend. Amanda has always been such a sweet beautiful spirit that would just light up your day with that infectious smile of hers. I watched her on the news for many years and my favorite was to see her do Wednesday Child. She had so much love and compassion for the children that she was trying to find suitable homes for and they seemed to love her right back. I often wondered how many of those children she was able to find good homes for. This beautiful soul will be missed, and Melora thank you so much for sharing your beautiful mother with the public for so many years. You, your grandmother, your family and friends have my most sincere condolences. My prayer is that God will give you all peace and that He will comfort your hearts. Be blessed!!!

To the family and friends of Amanda Davis, she will be remembered as the Lady with the wonderful smile and her life work of helping kids find families. To every person we're given a task, Amanda was done and no questions asked, she will receive her crown and we were blessed, to been in the present of an Angel who completed her test. I know Amanda is resting in the Peace and Love of God's great Kingdom and hearing the words: "WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT"

I have cried and know that to absent from the body and to be with Christ is God's will. You have fulfilled your purpose and it is so good to know that this is not the end and that I will one day, see you again. I found out that like me, you were a introvert too. I will never forget the email we exchanged and your reply on 2/13/17. And don't worry, your come back and testimony helped a lot of people, more than you probably can imagine. You will be missed!
My prayers are with you family, friends and colleagues for strength, comfort and peace.

Me: Amanda so good to see you back doing what I think you love. I will be praying for you to stay strong and know the battle is not yours, it's the Lord's. God bless you my sister!

I am speechless...What a beautiful woman and spirit! I continue to pray for her daughter, mother and family.

It's never easy to lose a mother, a daughter, a child of God! May your hearts be comforted with time.

I watched the beautiful services today and remember my mother, Mrs. Lucille Walker who passed in December 2008. She was a gospel singer and a member of the UMW and the Susan B. Komen foundation. She often sang, "I'm going up yonder" and favorite, "His Eye is on the Sparrow."

Amanda has transitioned and will rejoice with our Lord and Savior as she has gone up yonder as her eye is on the sparrow!

This is not goodbye, but rather, I'll see you later!

I extend my deepest sympathies to the family of Ms. Amanda Marie Davis. May the soul of your mother be at peace with our Heavenly Father.

Amanda will be missed Tremendously!

All grace and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May God be with you always.

I remember watching Channel 5 news with my mother whom passed away in 2013. She was just 62 years old when she died. Although watching Amanda Davis in 1985 when I was just 5 years old made me have desires of wanting a career in journalism and major in communications. Amanda Davis shined like a diamond on Channel 5 Eyewitness News then with her beauty and professionalism. Amanda Davis simplified grace, talent, dignity, pride, beauty, professionalism, caring heart for others, and the list goes on. I will always remember her Wednesday's Child on the news. I loved it!! She sold me the idea on child adoption! Amanda Davis will always forever be remembered in the journalism community. She is definitely one of the best veterans, and pioneers for the younger generation to learn from in their careers. Rest In Heaven Ms. Amanda Davis. We native ATLantans Will Always Miss You and Your Voice. Love You.
