Patrick Loperfido Obituary

AUBURN - Patrick J. Loperfido Jr., 56 of Lawrenceville, Ga., formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, July 4, 2011 at his sister's home on East Genesee Street with his family at his side, after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Auburn, the son of Rose LaPorta Loperfido and the late Pasquale 'Patsy' Loperfido. Pat was a graduate of the first class at Auburn High School, Class of 1973. He resided most of his life in Auburn, until moving in 1998 with his wife Elizabeth to the Atlanta, Ga. area to be closer to their sons. Prior to his illness, Pat had been employed for several years as a regional manager for Standard Coffee in the Atlanta area. Pat will be sorely missed by all his family and friends who were fortunate enough to get to know him. He brought a smile to anyone's face, with his quick wit and loveable personality, he will continue to live on in our hearts. Pat loved people and everyone in return loved him! He is survived by his two loving sons, Patrick and his wife, Regina Loperfido, Anthony Loperfido; mother, Rose Mary Loperfido; a brother, James and his wife, Rita Loperfido; two sisters, Terry DeRosa, Mary Anne Giacona and her husband, Joseph, all of Auburn; a beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth 'Betty' Rose Loperfido; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pat was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth 'Betty' in 1999; and his father, Patsy Loperfido. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at 11:30 a.m. Friday, in St. Francis of Assisi Church for Patrick's services. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
