Sunrise on Long Beach Island with Pat

Pat was a wonderful person and a great friend. My fondest memories was vacationing with Pat on the Jersey Shore in the 80's. I got to know him much better and we used to walk to the used bookstore to get our reading material for the beach. I remember when I came back to UD in 2002 for my 20 year reunion, Pat remembered that my mom had passed away that year and that really touched me. Blessings to Melissa and the kids and God be with you!

I have many fond memories of Flanagan's and Pat. The best is the evening Mark and I talked about what if we had a life together. Love and peace be with your family. Thank you for making the Dayton area a fun and great place to live and attend school.

I remember seeing and talking to Pat back in "the day" when the hangouts were Cassano's at T & C...the Parkmore on Marshall(?)...and the Country Kitchen on Wilmington. He was driving his orange GTO. Why do I remember Pat? Pat was easy to talk to...had a sense of humor...would talk to those younger than him (I was...but not by much). He always had a humorous glint in his eye...and a good thing to say. I left Ohio in the military in 1971, returned in 1975...was at the opening of Flanagans in 1976...and he remembered me...as I remembered him. Pat was (is) an all around good man. I send condolences...and being half Irish...I know that he was in heaven before the Devil knew that he was gone. God bless him and his family.

My deepest sympathies. Pat and his rambunctious siblings lived just two houses away growing up. We never spent much time together but I had the opportunity to get to know Pat when I went to UD. He was kind, supportive, and very much involved in the betterment of our community. God bless you Pat. You have left us much too soon.

Pat will be greatly missed by many! If the measure of a man is how many friends he has - Pat was a Goliath! If the measure of a man is how much he struggles and overcomes then he was one of the greatest men I have ever known. May you see the face of God and experience the fullness of His glory!

Pat was always gracious and enjoyed life, I will never forget how proud he was on adopting his first daughter. It was not a surprise that he wanted to do it again. Will never forget him and the good times I enjoyed in his place! For the NCAA I would come over for the first and second rounds from my office at NCR and enjoy a long lunch with Pat. Peace be with his family I know this is a big loss for you much more than for the rest of us!

Sincere condolences to the Flanagan family. May you find peace and comfort knowing he is no longer suffering and is with God. Praying for strength for all of you.
Pat was so special to our UD Community. He was always smiling, Flanagans (and Tim's) were our/UD's version of Cheers. We shared many good times with Pat. May his legacy live on in our memories.
Take care.
