Funeral service for Christine Frances Pendley, 42, of Decatur will be Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Decatur with the Reverend Roger Jenkins officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. She will be laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Pendley, who passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital, was born October 3, 1970, in Sewickley, Pa. She was a 1988 graduate of Haleyville High School, and a 1995 graduate of Samford University with a BS in education. Christine married Steve Pendley on June 20, 1992, and taught elementary school in Decatur.
Christine is survived by her wonderful husband, Steve Pendley; four beautiful children, Chase, Abbey, Alex and Emma; her father, Tom Myl; and mother, Becky Fontes (Clyde); one brother, Bryan Myl (Dede); and one sister, Lisa Myl.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Shumaker, Forrest Ford, Andy Hampton, Michael Hixon, Jake Bailey and Cole Blevins.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the Christine Pendley Memorial Fund for the children's education, at any Family Security Credit Union, or to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, tnbcfoundation.org.
