Nancy Eileen Moody of Snellville, Georgia, a beloved sister, daughter, aunt and cousin, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born on January 12, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the cherished 2nd-born daughter of Paul and Virginia Moody's five daughters.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Virginia Moody and her brother-in-law, James Michael Ernest. She is survived by her four sisters: Joyce Micheletti (Umberto) of Loganville, GA, Linda Ernest of Norcross, GA, Paula Moody of Snellville, GA, Debbie Kristiansen (Tore) of Loganville, GA, her nephew, Christopher Paul Kristiansen of Austin, TX, and several cousins.
Nancy spent part of her childhood in Georgia but at the age of 11 she moved with her family to Thailand, where her parents served as Southern Baptist missionaries.
She attended and graduated in 1967 from the International School of Bangkok, Thailand, then returned to the U.S. to attend college at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.
During the summer of 1969 she toured the U.S. and Europe with The Continental Singers, an evangelical Christian music ministry.
She later went to work at AT&T and after 30+ years retired. During her years at the phone company she completed her B.A. degree from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, in Sociology & Anthropology.
She continued working after retirement as a private tutor for several years.
Nancy was a survivor and during her 25+ years living in Miami, Florida, she survived Hurricane Andrew and later breast cancer.
In 2006, she moved to the mountains and spent 14 years living in Fletcher, North Carolina, then moved back to Atlanta in 2020.
Nancy was a people person with a "heart of gold." She loved to travel, discuss current and historical events and playing the piano by ear.

Nancy was a loving and fun person and a dear friend. We spent many hours together growing as people and enjoying life. When Hurricane Andrew hit Nancy lived with me for several months and despite all she had been through we had a wonderful time. She will be missed.
