Arlen Moody

Arlen Moody, 64, of Genoa, Nebraska, died Monday, September 29, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 6, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion, Nebraska, with Pastor Connie Kramer officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family.

"Papa" Arlen Todd Moody

Arlen was born on July 25, 1961 to Roland and Lucille Moody in Albion, NE. He was the youngest of 5 children. He took a lot of pride in his Dad's farm until his Mom remarried and they moved. Arlen attended District 42 country school, later graduating from Cedar Rapids High School. After school, he spread his wings and did a lot of exploring through many places including the mountains. He had a true love for the mountains.

In 1989 he married Janet Robinson in Columbus Nebraska. They continued their life in Genoa raising their 3 children Jeni, Jesse and Tina. His passion for mechanics lead him to open his own shop A & J Repair. If you couldn't find him at the shop, you could find him at one of the other two, Napa or Peppers. He was always helping someone in one way or another and always with a smile on his face

His later years led him to working at Walmart tire and lube in Columbus, NE. He made many friends there. He was known to be the motorcycle guy as he rode his bike rain or shine. He later retired there.

During retirement he liked to tinker in the shop, gardening and spending time with his family. He was a very proud Papa Arlen to his grandkids as well as many other children. Even on his last couple months he never lost his spunk and kept his kids and caregivers on their toes.

Grandkids: Ava, Devon, Preston, Angelica, Jesse, Adalyn, Cameron and Kegan.
Brother: Dan (Verna) Moody of Eaton, CO
Katie, Charlie, Logan, and Declan
Sister: Gloria (Kevin) Coufal of Lisbon, ND
Neil, Brad, Elizabeth, Kevin Jr. and Danae
Special kids: Craig, Chris and Corey
Caretakers: Sam Bishop and Ryan Shockley
Special friends/daughter: Deneen Czapla, Troy and Jordin Graybill

Preceded in death by mom Lucille, dad Roland, brother Roger, sister Rhonda, grandparents Valentine and Katherine Walker, grandparents Perrin and Nettie Moody, Janet and Stacey and stepdad, Allen Rudman. His beloved pets Cece and Tommy.
