Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ramaekers Patrick Funeral Home on Jan. 2, 2026.
Lois Ann Grabbe, 68, of Clarks, Nebraska, died Thursday, December 25, 2025, at 7:20 pm at Genoa LTC in Genoa, Nebraska, where Lois was an eight-year resident under the Genoa LTC, and before death, a patient of St. Croix Hospice.
Lois was born on May 4, 1957, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Ralph Paul and Rita Mae (Loeffelholz) Buhman. She was the oldest of five children. On September 10, 1988, Lois was united in marriage to Richard Allen Grabbe, also of Clarks. They later divorced. She had no children of her own and classified her two cats as her kids. Lois was an animal lover, loved to talk on the CB radio with handle of "speed wheels". Lois loved to go trucking and explore new places when she was married to Richard. Lois loved playing bingo and was named "bingo queen" at the nursing home. Lois also loved fishing, picking berries and going to concerts at the county fairs. Lois worked as donut flyer, a hotel checking clerk, a cleaner, and an on-call laundry staff person.
Lois is survived by:
3 sisters and a brother,
Linda Kay (Lester Arthur) Maker, of Dyersville, IA,
Donna Lee Buhman, of Dubuque, IA,
Carol Mae Maker of Dubuque, IA
and Richard "Rick" Lee (Kathy) Buhman of Ankeny, IA;
14 nieces and nephews;

her mother, Rita Mae (Loeffelholz) Buhman (February 21, 1933 – May 2, 2005),
and a brother-in-law, Steven Francis Maker (April 4, 1961 – March 24, 2005).
The family of Lois Ann Grabbe would like to thank the very dedicated nurses and staff members of Genoa LTC and St Croix Hospice and the doctors who cared for her.
