With deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Dave.

Diane and I both remember him best by his infectious laugh and his very laid-back style of sailing the "Boondoggle", way back when.

His smile will shine on through all the people he touched.

Dave will be missed at the Silversides. Always enjoyed his smiling face and sea stories. His expertise with diesel submarines is a vanishing skill.

We are very sad to hear of Dave passing. Dave has been a good friend and we will miss his visits to the museum. He was a patient mentor to us as we tried to better understand the workings of the sub during the early
years of the museum. Bye, Dave, we are blessed by the time that you spent in Muskegon with us, and we thank you for it.

I always remember being in the engine room of the Silversides with Dave when he let me start one of the engines. Dave has been a good friend and a wonderful person. We will miss his visits at the Sivlersides museum.

My husband, Lee, and I met Dave back in 1973. Lee and Dave had just been hired at EPA. I met Dave when he stopped over for a visit shortly after this. I recall we were celebrating our daughter's first birthday. She is now in her early forties and we've been friends with Dave ever since. I also recall it was that evening Dave and I realized we went to the same high school. We had a lot of fun with that fact over the years.
Our paths have crossed many times over the last forty some years. Marriages, children, work, yard sales, up north, parties; each time we got together it was like no time had passed and we could pick up right where we left off the last time. He was a dear friend and he will be missed greatly.

Already I miss you, my friend. A kinder, more gentle man I've never known. Great times bumming around the boats and the museum--Silversides will miss you too.

Here's to eternally cold beer, fair winds and following seas; and Dave--we'll see each other again.
