Jodi & family, I am saddened by your loss. Daryl was a generous guy who loved life and I enjoyed working for him even though we did not see things the same way. He will be missed. Remember the good times and keep in mind Rev. 21: 3,4 when tears will be no more.

Dear Jodi and family,
We send our sympathy and was sorry we could not attend the services for your Beloved Daryl.
Though we didn't know Daryl, Don and I can't help but think he must have been pretty darn right up there special.
After all, he chose our Jodi to have and to hold. Imagine, he is holding you tight right now with the same love he held for you during his brief time on earth.
May God give you and all the family His peace and may Daryl rest in the peace of our dear Lord and Savior.
Thinking of you Jodi with love and prayers.
Don and Carol AKA mom and dad (remember all those times? We sure do.)

Words cannot say how sorry we are for the grief that you are bearing. Please forgive us for not being able to come to the services, we were out of town and could not make it back in time. I do not even have your address to send your card to, but please know that Bill and I are thinking of you and praying for you and your family to be strong and courageous until you see him again, and we know that you will. Hold fast to your faith and your family, and may God watch over you and give you His peace. I wish I was there to give you a hug....

To the entire Straw family,
Growing up with Daryl (or as we said "DarylStraw" - one word) was an adventure. There were few kids my age out on West Valley View and he lived within Schwinn bicycle range. He was two years older than me so I always looked up to him and he always had some "good" idea to have fun. He had a zest and passion for life that was incredible. I will never forget all the wild adventures we had growing up. He will be greatly missed. With deepest sympathy, David, Marian & Colt Morris.

Dear Jodi,
I was so saddened when I heard the news of Daryl's death. I know that there are no words of comfort that can really help you with the pain you are experiencing, but know that there are people in the world who are praying for you and thinking about you every day. It may take a long time, but my hope is that one day you will think of Daryl with great joy instead of the sadness you are feeling now. Be gentle with yourself, and take the time you need.
Best to you and yours,
Danyel Logevall (Meyer)

I think back to that day last summer when Daryl and I met in front of the store here at the lake. We had not seen each other for many years (since High School).
Getting to know him again, and getting to know all of you has been such a priveledge, for all of us. We laughed, we smiled, we remembered the old days, we met new friends, We can't express enough how much our friendship with all of you means to us. I just knew that we would all be friends forever. Daryl made life exciting for everyone around him and we have made new connections with old friends because of him. The service on Sunday was amazing and we were so proud of you all for being so strong. We will miss Daryl and we will find comfort knowing that he will live on in our hearts and memories. Someday we'll all be together again in the company of our friends and family who have passed before us. When that day comes I am sure that he will be there to greet us.
We love you and we're here if you need us.
George, Barbara, Kierstin, Shawn & Kelly, Jason, Ryan, Joel and all of your friends.

I am sorry for your loss and I hope you all are able to keep your chin up and live on. It is a tremenous blow and would be easy to spiral downwards, however, I know that Daryl wouldn't want that to occur. My best for you all.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Daryl's family. I have not kept in touch with Daryl since I moved to Alaska & I regret that. I have very fond memories of riding horses through the orchards together when we were kids & of course riding motorcycles & 3-wheelers. There was never a better friend than Daryl he was very special to me & I will never forget him. Again my thoughts are with the friends & family he left behind.

To the entire Stray family my heart goes out to you, and i was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of such a great person. Having grown up with Daryl out on West valley view, each day was a new adventure, and each summer was sure to be packed with fun. I was fortunate enough to stay in touch with everyone through the years, and fondly remember the time we spent at 4h fair this last year.
I know this goes without saying, but we are here for you all, Jodie the girls, debbie, and don. We are just a phone call or mouse click away away.

Jodi;
You are a strong character that will overcome adversity and challenges that are placed in front of you. I have had the privelage of knowing you and Daryl since we were young. I saw how each of you had grown both together and separately. I knew that you to would be soulmates in the long run. I will never forget our talks and the adventures that I have had with Daryl, from Red Bluff rodeos, to the sinking of his 4x4 in the White City ponds. He loved life to the fullest including his family, friends, and animals.

To my best friend and his family, I will always remember all of the special camping, hunting and just plain hanging out times we all shared together, and the many times Daryl and I shared alone.
Keep this one thing in mind Daryl's heart was bigger than life he would have done or giving anything to someone in need even at his own expense or time. My friend was special to many, many people and had a way of making you feel like you were the only friend he had.
My heart goes out to you Jodi and the girls. You are like a sister to me and have helped me through some tough times. So now its my turn I am here for you.
Daryl will be missed at the next hunting or camping event or whatever it may be but he will never be forgotten.
Also I want you to know if he didn't say once he said it a 1000's time he loved his wife and didn't know what he would do without you. It is not very often you hear a man say that about his wife, but he did and I know he meant it every time he said it.
His life came to an end suddenly and with shock to us all. Now he is in a special place watching over all of us just as he did when he was here with us.
With all my love,
Rick Miller

Take care of you and yours.

To Jodi, Girls, Don/Glenda, Debbie and other family members –
When a loved one passes, it is sad for those left behind. And all of us share your sadness and sorrow. Daryl was life and vitality. There was always an “energy” surrounding him. He lived each second as if it had infinite value and thus should be enjoyed - to have fun whether in work or play. My memories of Daryl flash before me as "moments" forever imprinted in my mind and heart – "moments" of him capturing a wild horse at the Red Bluff Round-up, "moments" of four-wheeling in the mud in that old jacked up truck with big tires, "moments" of just hearing and seeing that laugh and smile. I can just imagine the “moments” that flash for each one of you because you had so many years of all those “moments.” It is sad Daryl is physically gone from us, but joyous to know he is in a beautiful place to which he has gone. He was called, sent to God’s house. May that comfort you, give you strength as you mourn his loss, and help us all to celebrate the life he lived. In God’s name we pray.

Jodi and family, We are so sorry for your loss. Please know that you can always count on us if you need anything. It has been awhile since we have seen you guys, but please know that you are always in our thoughts. That's what I have always loved about you and your family...no matter how long it has been since we've seen each other, it is so easy to pick up where we left off. We had only met Daryl one or two times, but boy did he leave a great impression with my husband...he remembers having a lot in common with him, his love for his family, his love for hunting and his love for the great outdoors! We will be praying for you and the girls.

Jodi: God Bless You guys through this - Daryl was just so full of life and so funny - He is watching and checking in on all of you - and He doesn't want you to be at all sorry for him going on before you; you will see him again and until then He'll be watching out for you every minute of every day. I must start off by saying goodbye to Daryl, my friend from along time ago-someone I will never forget. I want to let his family know that he was a perfect gentleman when he picked me up at my home for my first ever "car date" that I was allowed to finally go on and how excited I was to be dating Daryl Straw. That was back in 1982, a long time ago, but I would imagine he always stayed a gentleman and became a loving husband to another one of my long time ago friends, Jodi, and I am sure he was a wonderful father to his children.
I have great memories of our really close "Cowboy" group through our school years and I will always cherish them. I hope and pray that all of Daryl's family can always remember the good times and hopefully these can help you get through the hard times. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers and I am so very sorry for your loss.
I know it has been a while since we have talked, Jodi, but if there is anything I can do for you, just let me know. My brother, Mike, wants you all to know that he is also so sorry for your loss......Sincerely, Lisa and Mike Wion
