Dr. Williams was mine and my husbands doctor for almost 20 years. It broke our heart the day we saw him at the cancer center as he and my husband were both battling Cancer at the same time. We both admired him and we're sad to see her did not beat the battle. Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family.

As a neighborhood playmate and teammate of Leroy's many years ago I can only speak to those times. My brother alerted me to Leroy's passing as I have made Virginia my home now for over 21 years courtesy of the US Navy. My recollection of those days if of fun and funny stories of which Leroy was sometimes the main subject. His folks bought a house on Denton with a steep, albeit dangerous incline that was perfect for uncontrolled red wagons loaded with kids to go down in front of unsuspecting motorists. And Leroy, bless his heart, had never thrown a baseball or swung a bat but for $10 he was on our Raytown Little League "Braves" team. My dad, the coach tried to hide Leroy in right field, but nevertheless, the occasional fly ball would find Leroy and what happened next is the stuff of many a sandlot baseball lore! I have to share than often when Leroy was at bat his swing was so late that the umpire literally had to call the pitch a ball (when outside the strike zone). Of course the first foul ball he hit, he got a standing ovation from all of the sympathetic moms in the stands. Unfortunately, my Navy travels kept me from continuing our friendship into adulthood. It appears I missed a real treat. I hope to be able to re-connect when it's my time to go to be with the Lord. May all Leroy's loved ones cherish these and the many memories you have.

Leroy was a friend, a fellow woodworker, and a Physician whose patients have declared their Love for him and greatly appreciated the care that he provided.

I will miss him, as will all of the Osteopathic Community. He was an asset to Independence and he will be greatly missed.

Until I see you again Leroy, Rest in, and at, Peace, my Friend.

"Having known Leroy for more than 50 years, I will miss my loyal pal and our shared love of games, John Wayne films and bad jokes. Someone once said doctors diagnose, nurses heal and caregivers make sense of it all. Leroy was able to do all three; and so much more as a loving husband, good son and brother, and a wonderful father. Rest in peace, my friend."
