Rev. Robert Cozzini

COZZINI
Rev. Robert P., on November 4, 2012, of Caldwell, NJ, age 79. Fr. Cozzini was born on January 8, 1933 in Newark, NJ. He was raised on 2nd Ave., Newark, before moving to the Silver Lake section of Belleville, NJ and then spent his later childhood on Grove St. in Bloomfield, NJ. He attended St. Francis Xavier Parish Elementary School in Newark, NJ then went on to Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, NJ. He received his Undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ and Master's Degree in Religious Studies from Manhattan College. Fr. Cozzini attended the Immaculate Conception Seminary in Darlington, NJ and was ordained by the Most Rev. Thomas A. Boland on May 28, 1960. His first assignment was at St. Lucy Parish in Newark, NJ from 1960 -1962, later moving to Holy Family Parish in Nutley, NJ from 1962-1980, before finally serving at the Church of the Epiphany in Cliffside Park, NJ from 1982-2002. After retiring in 2002, he resided at the Rev. Msgr. James F. Kelley Residence in Caldwell, NJ. Fr. Cozzini chose to be a lifelong parish priest, serving the people. He demonstrated a love of God, love of life, and love of family. He was a man of great humor and compassion; a beacon of goodness and a pillar of strength for his family, friends, and parishioners. Loving brother to Aurelia "Rita" Stypulkoski and her husband Joseph, Nello Cozzini, Sr. Vilma Cozzini M.P.F., and Rev. Dorino Cozzini and his wife Connie. Cherished uncle to John, Thomas, and Denis Stypulkoski, Theresa Pecaro, Anthony Cozzini, Michael Cozzini, and Bridget Neigel. He is also survived by many loving grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Church of the Epiphany 247 Knox Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ on Friday November 9, 2012 from 3-7 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday November 10, 2012 from 9-10 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fr. Cozzini's memory to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark 171 Clifton Avenue, Newark, NJ 07104. A.K.
