Candice "Candy"

Hetrick

Candice "Candy" Hetrick, 57, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2004, after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Born in Akron, she was a lifetime resident and retired from Roadway Express in 2003, after 17 years of service. Candy was a member of Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, Toastmasters of America, Ar lington Memorial Baptist Church, and a former member of the Rubber City Jugglers. Candy graduated from Cuya hoga Falls High School and at tended KSU for two years as an art major. Her favorite things in life were her grandchildren, her puppy, Casey, and painting. She will be sadly missed by all her friends and relatives.

Candy is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Rich ard; son, Daniel (Tonja) of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Sarah Grace of Cuyahoga Falls; sister, Merry Anne Scheible of Akron; grandchildren, Nathan, Benjamin, and Victoria; two aunts; one uncle; and a host of other relatives.

Funeral service Friday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St., with Rev. Donald Davies officiating. Burial at Northlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., and also one hour prior to service time on Friday. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd., Suite 260, Independence, OH 44131.

Tom called me and told me about Candy. I'm so terribly sorry for all of you. Even though I haven't seen all of you for some time, the memories I have of all of us together when the kids were small are very happy ones. We send our warmest condolences to the Hetrick family. We became friends with Dan and Tonja and Nathan while they worked for the State Dept in Hong Kong. They were active members of Island Baptist Church of which we pastor. Our hearts are rejoicing that Candy is with our Saviour and enjoying the glories of heaven, but our hearts are saddened for the family in their loss.
