"Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother & Uncle"
Paul F. Grant, 89, formerly of Middlebury, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at the VITAS Inpatient Unit at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Jean M. (Martinelli) Grant.
Paul was born in Waterbury, CT on January 29, 1936, a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Weidman) Grant. Paul was the service manager for F&S Oil Company in Waterbury for over 14 years, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed golfing, vacations with family and friends and playing cards. His biggest holiday was Christmas, he loved cooking the holiday meal, and being Santa for all.
Paul leaves his two daughters, Wanda L. Grant of Middlebury, and Leatrice J. Way and her husband, Mark Sr., of Oakville, his three loving grandchildren, Nicole Paolino, Sabrina Brundage and Mark Way, Jr., his three brothers, John Grant and his wife, Maryann, of Tacoma, WA, David Grant of Lincolnton, NC, and Bruce Grant and his wife, Roxanne, of Waterbury, and two sisters, Elise Hurley and her husband, Frank, of Danbury, CT and Rose Bentley of Daytona, FL., also several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at VITAS Hospice Unit at St. Mary's Hospital and the Cheshire House Convalescent Home for their care and love for Paul.
Arrangements: A funeral service with the cremains present will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the First Congregational Church, 40 Deforest Street, Watertown, CT. There are no calling hours. Anyone wishing to attend the service for Paul are asked to meet directly at the Church on Wednesday. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury has been entrusted with assisting the family with Paul's services.
