Lawrence Lechtenberg Obituary

Lawrence Cletus Lechtenberg, of the Good Samaritan Society, Loveland Village, died Tuesday, January 28 in the 99th year of life. Larry was born to Henry and Catherine (Sandman) Lechtenberg in New Vienna, IA on September 28, 1914. He married Jeanette (Theisen) Pins on September 1, 1943. He is survived by his five children: Sister Mary Lechtenberg, Cedar Rapids, IA; Robert (Barbara) Lechtenberg, Philadelphia,PA; Elizabeth (Donald) Sherlock, Cicero, IL; Donna Kavanaugh, Richfield, MN; and Doris (Thomas) Healy, Fort Collins, CO. There are 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren who were fortunate to know him all their lives. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters, 2 brothers and a son-in-law. A Mass of Resurrection will be Thursday, February 6 at 11 AM. St. John's Catholic Church. The family will greet visitors at 10 AM at the church. Viegut Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Ft. Collins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or to a charity of your choice. Go to www.viegutfuneralhome.com for condolences.

I'm sorry for your loss. Death is one of the hardest things to deal with but I have found hope in John 5:28 and 29 and I would like to share that with you.

I have only known Larry since I moved to Good Sam in April of 2013 and we became fast friends. He was a wonderful person and we had fun times with his great sense of humor. I am sad to lose him. He will always be in my heart.

Larry was a great man. He was a lector and did many, many rosaries at all the funeral homes and assisted as much as he was able too. Much loved.
