Donald F. Pierson Sr.

Feb. 17, 1934 - March 27, 2017

SOUTH BEND - Donald “Don” F. Pierson, 83, passed away, peacefully, following a lengthy illness on Monday, March 27, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born February 17, 1934 in South Bend, Indiana to the late, Louis Pryzybylski- Pierson and Victoria (Rataczak) Pierson. Don is also preceded in death by a son, Donald Pierson, Jr.

On April 12,1958 in St. Hedwig Catholic Church, Donald married the love of his life, Joyce(Hutson) Pierson, she survives along with children, Ann Coomes, Kathleen (Richard) Eichstedt, and Mary (Rick) Sands; daughter-in-law, Barbara Pierson and sister-in-law, Pauline Pierson; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Don graduated from South Bend Central High School. He honorably served with the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956, at both Kingman Arizona, and Galena Air Base in Alaska. Don was owner and operator of Pierson & Son Carpet Cleaning in South Bend for 32 years and retired to River Park in Plymouth, Indiana.

A Catholic Memorial Mass for Don will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday April 4, 2017 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery following the Mass.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to Grace Hospice, 5838 Brick Rd. Ste. 101, South Bend, IN 46628.
