I watched Jay grow up at Butterscotch Auction from the time he was a very little boy. He would watch and learn (and bid) so enthusiastically and was always such a sweet boy with a warm smile. My heart goes out to you all and I hold you in my prayers.

To the Reader family,
Jay and I spent a summer playing tennis together in North Myrtle Beach, SC. I will always remember Jay for his smile, sense of humor and kind nature. The many good times that we had together on and off the tennis court will always be remembered by me, and his positive spirit will forever live on. Jay always had a way of making my day, and he will be greatly missed. Best wishes.

You were the most beautiful, special brother a sister could have ever asked for. I was so blessed to have you in my life, as you were my teacher, the person I marveled at, the person I looked up to. You were and will always be my older brother and there will always be a special place for you in my heart. I love you with all of my heart and soul and thank you for being the best brother I could have ever asked for. All of My Love, Forever and Ever, Elenna

Dear Jay
I was so sad when I heard the news man. Our summer in Myrtle Beach was one to remember. More than what you ever said to me, what you ever did for me, the one thing I remember is how you always made me feel. You were such a light hearted, caring person and I will miss you dearly. Rather than be sad, I am thankful for having gotten the chance to know you and spend a summer together. Keep an eye out on all of us from Crown Elite, and see you soon man.

Dear Reader Family,
I am incredibly saddened by the news of Jay, and my heart aches for your family. I had the pleasure of knowing Jay through tennis in South Carolina and will never forget time spent with him during those summers. He was one of the happiest people I've ever met, always cracking jokes and making people laugh. But, when it was time to get to work on the court, he put his game face on.
My deepest condolences for your loss.

We are greatly saddened to learn of the news of the death of your son, Jay. It's been a number of years since Jay has graced our home. My son, Nick Shaw and Jay met at Camp Playland when they were little. It was around middle school that I recall Jay first coming to our house. He was a very polite boy who always came up to say 'hello' to me when he arrived, unlike some of my son's other friends. He was a funny kid making everyone laugh including me. I never saw him play tennis but I knew he was a very talented tennis player and we used to talk about tennis around the kitchen since we shared that in common. My children, Samantha and Nick and I send our deepest condolences to your family. We pray that he is at peace and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
