David M. Woodrow

Woodrow, David M. age 88, joined his wife and the Lord in Heaven on Oct. 16, 2013. Born in Newton, Iowa, to Ivan and Florence; longtime resident of Edina, Minn., resident of Scottsdale, Ariz., and finally living at Cornerstone Commons Assisted Living in Plymouth, Minn. Education: Newton High School, Iowa State University, University of Iowa. Career: Joined 3M Co., 43 years; retired 1990, Director of Aviation. Member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity; National Business Aircraft Association; IBAC; Metropolitan Aircraft Sound Abatement Council; MSP Airport Commission; Downtown Airport Committee; St. Paul Chamber of Commerce; Christ Presbyterian Church, Edina; Valley Presbyterian, Scottsdale, Ariz. Served in U.S. Navy, 1943-46, Dept. of Aviation. David is survived by four children, David (Janine), San Jose, Calif.; Sally Bein, Marine on St. Croix, Minn.; Thomas (Jodie), Eden Prairie, Minn.; Nancy Johnson (Curtis), Plymouth, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Kyle), Rachel, Lindsay, Kellan, Morgan, T.J., and Allison; two great-grandchildren, Lucy and Hank. David is preceded in death by parents; sister, Harriet (Bob) Nelson; and wife, Betty, who eagerly greeted him in Heaven. The Woodrow family thanks Cornerstone for their care and love. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Cornerstone Commons Assisted Living or charity of choice. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorial service 10 AM Thursday 10/24 at Christ Presbyterian Church, W. 70th St. at Hwy. 100. Visitation one hour prior to service.
