Ralph Harrington Tully

Edina - Age 89, of Edina, MN, died peacefully at home on November 12, 2025. He was born June 10, 1936, and grew up in the Kenwood area of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wellington Sr. and Prudence (Harrington), his older brother Wellington "Duke" Tully, and his beloved grandson Timothy R. Nunn. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Karen Sorum Tully, daughters Elizabeth "Zibby" (Jim) Nunn, Amy Tully (Argu Secilmis), Catherine "Katie" Tully, and grandchildren, Jimmer and Matthew Nunn, Alex and Alara Secilmis, his sister Prudence Dings and many nieces and nephews. He graduated from The Blake School in 1954, where he forged wonderful lifelong friendships, served as the class president and loved participating in many sports for the Blake Bears. He graduated from Yale University followed by law school at the University of Minnesota. Ralph enjoyed a distinguished legal career that spanned nearly six decades, working for many years alongside his father. Ralph was active in the community, serving as President of the Minneapolis Athletic Club and was involved for 25 years with the Real Property Law Section of the MN Bar Assn. Ralph loved history, sports and singing, and was particularly fond of musicals. He cherished time spent with family at the cabin on Green Lake in Spicer, MN and adventures to Europe with Karen. He was a devoted supporter of his grandchildren and took great joy in watching them participate in their many activities. He was also well known in the neighborhood for his annual appearance as Santa Claus. He wanted to make a special acknowledgement to Dr. Ramon Castroviejo whose cornea transplant in 1956 allowed him to live a wonderful life. A service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 12 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service and a reception afterwards at Normandale Lutheran Church, 6100 Normandale Rd, Edina, MN 55436. Interment will follow at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Timmy Nunn Scholarship Foundation or donor's choice. www.washburn-mcreavy.com
