Susan Denise Donath

Susan Denise (Atteberry) Donath died of cancer on November 11, 2025. The cancer started in her breasts, and metastasized painfully to her hip before she discovered it in 2023. She spent her last years reminding her loved ones to get their mammograms.
Susan was born in 1957 to Lowell and Jackie Atteberry of Geff, IL. As a child she enjoyed helping her dad on the farm, and could never get enough time with her ever-smiling grandmother, Inez Merrick.
Susan married her husband Steve at age 22, and their daughter Calley Donath was born four years later.
The same year Calley was born, Susan and Steve purchased their home of 38 years in Cisne, IL. They moved to to Minnesota when Steve retired in 2021 to be closer to Calley.
Susan loved to laugh, travel to Disney World in Florida, and watch Calley in her myriad extracurricular activities. Her friends knew if they were talking to Susan on the phone and Calley or Steve called, it was time for them to hang up - she was going to take that call.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her husband, daughter, and extended family. She will be missed.
