Joanne M. Schneewind (Fauskee)
Age 90, of Minnetonka, passed away October 3, 2025. She was born on a farm in Brooten, MN, one of 6 children. She was Brooten's Homecoming Queen of 1952.
She moved to Minneapolis, where she met Orville Schneewind. They were married on April 29, 1961 and were together for 59 years until his death in 2020.
They raised their three children in Minnetonka, in an active and supportive home. There were always homemade chocolate chip cookies in the freezer for the kids and their friends who spent many an hour playing at the Schneewind home.
Joanne was resilient and tenacious, but was incredibly kindhearted. Always quick to laugh and with a bit of mischief up her sleeve. When she and her sister Gloria or her daughter Linda got together, be prepared for hours of fun and giggling.
She had a way of moving through life without much fuss and a 'do unto thy neighbor' sort of philosophy. Her quiet, considerate approach to things gave us all a sense of knowing, that we belonged somewhere, that we were part of something bigger, and that we always had a safe place to land when life got too rough.
Preceded in death by her parents Albert and Marie, her husband Orville, and siblings Abner, Dale, Donald, Gloria and Waldo. Survived by her sons Jeff and Kurt (Penni), daughter Linda, grandchildren Jack and Erin.
