Patricia COTTRILLE Obituary

COTTRILLE, Patricia (Azneer)

90, of Seminole, passed away Nov. 24, 2017. She was born in Jackson, MI to her parents, William "Harvey" and Audra Cottrille. She was a graduate of Hillsdale College and of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines, IA, in 1951 with a DO degree. She was in general practice in Erie, PA before completing a residency in pediatrics in 1959 at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She practiced pediatrics until retiring in 1993. After relocating to Des Moines in 1974 to join the faculty of COMS, she served in numerous positions including Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs, and Interim Dean of Academic Affairs. She was the recipient of numerous awards and authored countless articles in pediatric publications. She served as the president of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians, in addition to serving on national advisory boards. In St. Petersburg, she served on several committees of the Gulf Coast Jewish Family Services, board member of Pinellas County Jewish Day School, member of Congregation B'nai Israel and it's Sisterhood. She was predeceased by her brother, William Powell Cottrille and sister, Kathryn "Kaki" Cottrille. Survivors include her devoted bonus (step) children, Dr. Jay Azneer, Reva Pearlstein, Dr. Ira Azneer; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11 am Sunday, November 26, 2017 at David C. Gross Funeral Home, Central Avenue Chapel. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Largo. Guestbook at:
