THOMAS, GEORGE REDBIRD; age 62; of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Tucson, AZ; passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. A Memorial Service for George will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, September 2, at 1 p.m. with George Martin officiating. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. George was born on March 16, 1963 in Tucson, AZ, the son of Robert K. and Eva F. (Domingo) Thomas. George was a member of the Tohono O’odham Nation. He loved to play guitar, sing, and drummed for the “Hardcore Nation”, dance, tell stories, cook, have fun and laugh. George was an avid sports fanatic, supporting the Detroit Lions and OU football, and enjoyed golfing and bowling. He will be remembered as a loving family-man, who loved to spend time with his grandchildren. George is survived by his children, R. Levi (Jayme) Thomas, Shelly (Jared) Peters, Sara (Jon Blackburn) Starr, Jesse Knox (Tonya) Thomas, James (Amy Jo Morseau) Thomas, Mem Eshkawkogan, Eva (Mojo) Thomas and Leela (Chris) Thomas; grandchildren, Skylar, David, Gen Cade, Larissa, Dejonay, Young, Nangwegan, Avery, Karla, Aeden, N’donis, Owen, Lilly and George; his babe, Lois Dockery; siblings, R. Stanley Thomas, Lance “BLT” Thomas and Calvin Thomas; mother of his children, Norma Jean; and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his son, Duncan “Beast” Thomas; parents; and sister, Karla Thomas.
