Ella Mae Smith was truly a special person. I was blessed to call her my friend. Her smile and sweet spirit always brightened my day. We stayed in contact for many years after I left Vennard. Eventually, we lost contact, but I never forgot her and kept trying to find her. She will always hold a very special place in my heart, and I look forward to seeing her again in heaven.

We wrote to each other a lot. She always spoke of how proud she was of her sister playing piano at churches.)6xsepq

This fun, sweet woman was one of my babysitters, growing up on the Vennard campus. Always, always a smile for everyone.

Ella Mae Smith was one of the many precious people I had the privilege of knowing while I was a student at Vennard College. With my remaining in University Park long term after graduating from Vennard (1971) and attending the same church Ella Mae attended, we had many opportunities to fellowship, until Ella Mae retired and moved back to Michigan (also my home state). Her humble, sweet spirit radiated to everyone around her. My husband (Alwyn) & I pray God's comfort & peace will be with all her family & friends while they await the day when they will see her again in Heaven.

It was a great blessing and personal joy to serve at Vennard College alongside Miss Ella Mae Smith. We shared on the Executive Committee for the eight years I was the Academic Dean, and I was blessed by her gracious spirit throughout the entire eleven years Margie and I served at the College. She was always a source of spiritual grace, exhibiting the love and fellowship of Jesus. She radiated His powerful and loving presence at all times. My life and that of my precious wife Margie, now in heaven with Ella Mae, have been enriched by just knowing Miss Ella Mae Smith, truly one of the lovely gems in the constellation of divine love, mercy, and grace.

Sweetest woman. I used to live by Vennard and also attended and got my AA in 1975. She was such a blessing to everyone she met!
