Ernest Boisvert

Manchester - Ernest Boisvert, 89, died Feb. 16, 2014, at Maple Leaf Health Care Center.Born on Nov. 4, 1924, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Albina (Forcier) Boisvert. Ernest was raised and educated in Canada and moved to the United States in 1960.He worked as a mechanic first at Chicopee Mills and later for Waumbec Mills.Mr. Boisvert enjoyed gardening and doing yard work.Family members include his daughter, Helen Sage, and husband Paul of Manchester; two sons, Robert Boisvert and wife Linda of Milton, Fla., and Richard Boisvert and wife Kathy of Manchester; six grandchildren, Diane Sage of Manchester, John Boisvert of Milton, Fla.,, Mark Boisvert of Milton, Fla., Christine Bates of Colorado, Trish Boisvert of Raleigh, N.C., and Chase Boisvert of Colorado, five great-grandchildren, Shaina, Carly, Tiffany, Dustin and Justine; and two great-great-grandchildren, Aidan and Trenton.Mr. Boisvert was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Fernande (Mayer) Boisvert, and his granddaughter, Linda Sage Bauersachs.

SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Ave., Manchester, on Friday, Feb. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. Complimentary valet parking will be provided during the gathering. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m. Committal prayers will follow in the mausoleum chapel at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.Donations in Ernest's name can be made to the ALS Foundation for Life, P.O.
