Janet Kiser Obituary

Janet M. (Cirasunda)
Kiser
HOLLAND PATENT
Mrs. Janet M. (Cirasunda) Kiser, age 77, went home to the Lord unexpectedly on Friday, December 5, 2014, in the arms of her loving husband and surrounded by her devoted family. Born in Little Falls on August 3, 1937, Janet was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Gallo) Cirasunda. She was raised and educated in Utica, employed at GE, and retired from Trenton Technologies, Inc., in 2004. On May 1, 1965, she married Gary L. Kiser. Gary felt blessed to have married this wonderful woman and was honored to call her his wife and the mother of his children. The foundation of Janet's life was her faith and the love she felt for her family. Her children and grandchildren filled her heart; and she loved watching them grow, perform, and play sports. Janet always looked to be the best human being she could be, and she accepted others with no prejudices or judgments. Her sense of humor, graciousness, and selfless acts enhanced all her relationships. Janet held a great love for horses and rode for pleasure, and supported her husband's competitive ventures. She was also an enthusiastic fan of SU basketball and the Yankees. Her Italian heritage shined through in the meals she lovingly made for family and friends. Janet's close relationship with God began at her birth and Baptism into the Catholic faith. Throughout her life, she celebrated God's love and was called to make a commitment as an Associate of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet (CSJA), living out the mission of Jesus. The ministries at the churches of St. Agnes, St. Leo, and her home parish, St. Mary's and St. Peter's in Rome, enhanced her devotion and spirituality. She was very active in the Altar Rosary Society, taught Religious Education classes, and was a member of the Mission of the Christ Child Food Pantry. Janet is survived by her husband, Gary; her children and their spouses, Scott and Jamie Kiser of Rome, Lisa and Mark Larkin of Saratoga Springs, and Mark and Kirsten Kiser of Sherrill; and her beloved grandchildren, Tyler, and Courtney Kiser; Marisa, Matthew, and Michael Larkin; and Luke, Alexa, and Laiken Kiser; she also knew the love of her additional grandchildren, Alexis, and Jenna. Her extended family includes many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and godchildren; her in-laws, Darlene and David King; a special uncle, James Abel; and the many wonderful friendships that blessed her life. She was predeceased by her sisters and a brother and their spouses, Anna F. and Vincent Fabbio, Gabriel and Ann Cirasunda, Mary and Benjamin Scalise, and Joan Cirasunda. The family is grateful to the members of the Holland Patent Volunteer Fire Department for their many compassionate responses. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be considered to the St. Elizabeth Medical Center Foundation in care of the Cardiac Unit or the Missions of the Christ Child at St. Mary's and St. Peter's Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Janet's funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Wednesday morning at 10:30 at St. Mary's and St. Peter's Church, 105 E. Liberty Street in Rome, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Philip Hearn. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery in Rome at the convenience of the family. Gary, our condolences to you for the loss of your wife. Janet's work family here is saddened by her passing, and we remember her fondly as the mother hen who kept all of her chicks in line. She will be greatly missed, but we rejoice that she was such a light in this world. With love, the employees of Trenton Technology.

Dear Gary,

We did not know that Janet was so sick. The years just seem to pass so quickly. We had such wonderful memories and fond times with the horses and you and Janet.
