Margaret J. Madert (Age 87)
On Saturday, February 17, 2018, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved mother of Bill Madert (Lucy), Mike Madert (Karen), Ellen McWilliams (Mark) and Bobby Madert; grandmother of Billy, Austin, Chris, Scott, Kelly, Kevin, Amy and Brian. She is predeceased by her grandson Steven McWilliams. Also survived by her great grandchildren Stevie and Quinn; her siblings Mary Smith, Anna Jarrell and Thomas Jarrell (Essie); and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Tuesday, February 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Silver Spring United Methodist Church, 8900 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Wednesday, February 21, at 11 a.m. Interment private. It was with shock and sadness that I learned of Margaret's passing. For all the time I knew her (over 25 years), she served the community at large and the Woodside family. Friendly, positive, with generosity and great good sense. A woman rightfully appreciated and admired. My deepest condolences to her family. May God comfort you.

Margaret was such a blessing and encouragement to me when we lived in Silver Spring. She helped the young women serve alongside UMW, both teaching us and letting us do things our way. I still carry her spirit of joyful service and balance of tradition/innovation with me.

Margaret was so dear to me and my daughter Caitlin. Throughout our time at Woodside UMC she nurtured us through rough times, but more than that she helped us laugh and enjoy the fellowship and family we so fondly remember. We treasure her friendship and easy nature. Sending our heartfelt love and prayers to all her family.
