Jonathan Browning Ring

Jonathan Ring Obituary

JONATHAN BROWNING RING, 22, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born June 26, 1986 in Houston, Texas to William S. and Nannette L. Ring. Jonathan was raised in Friendswood and attended Friendswood High School. He was an honor student at the University of Texas at San Antonio School of Business and Engineering. Jonathan was also a member of the National Honor Society and had planned to return to Houston to join the family business upon his graduation. In extreme sports, such as snow skiing, wake boarding, jet skiing, and skydiving, Jonathan excelled. He was a member of the Friendswood High School track and soccer teams. He also took great pride in becoming a skilled marksman, winning first place in several tournaments with his competitive marksmen team in San Antonio. Jonathan brought such joy into the hearts of all who knew him. He touched the lives of friends, family, and even strangers, by continually performing random acts of kindness. Countless stories have been shared about his unending generosity and helpful spirit. Jonathan adored children and children adored him. With his playful charm he could willingly entertain his little cousins, Grayson and Madison, for hours. Everyone will miss his youthful energy and delightful sense of humor. He was a jokester with an infectious laugh who was the life of every party. Jonathan had a passion for country music and enjoyed Western dancing. To say Jonathan loved dogs would be an understatement. He referred to his three Boxers: Gunner, Misty, and Hugo, as his "kids." He took them everywhere, and cared for them as though they were babies. Imagine his parents' surprise when they received an invoice Tuesday from "The Pet Butler." Jonathan, indeed, lived life to the fullest! Jonathan is survived by his loving parents, Nannette and Bill Ring; sister, Laura; brother, Adam; and grandmother, Margaret Kent Ring. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Adam Ring, Cooper Bagheri, Clay Dillard, Jimmy Fitzsimmons, Michael Fuhrmann, Dominic Garcia, Justin (Bubba) Lakner, and Nick Olivari. The visitation will be Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546, (281) 992-7200. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 12, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Friendswood United Methodist Church, 110 West Edgewood, Friendswood, Texas 77546, with Rev. John Wise officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N. Main Street, Pearland, Texas 77581. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations for research and funding to go to Lone Star Paralysis Foundation at 1215 Red River, Suite #421, Austin, Texas 78739. Donations can also be given through the website at lonestarparalysis.org. These funds will help Jonathan continue his quiet acts of kindness while benefiting a family member recently injured in Hurricane Ike. Condolences can be sent to the Ring Family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.

Dear Ring Family, You do not know me or our family but John's obituary caught my husbands eye because he once interviewed for a job with your company. Our prayers are with you and your family. We also lost our beautiful 20 yr. old son last May. Brad was a graduate of Pearland and also on his way in the business world when he was taken from us. This is something no parent should ever have to go through. But only as a parent who has lost a child can we understand the pain. May God Bless you and bring you peace to help you heal. It is a long road but without our faith, family and friends we could not make it. We also have another wonderful son that we go on for. You can see us often at Southpark by the young oak tree in the Palms. May peace be with you.
In deepest sympathy Debbie & Larry Sims

I went to school with Johnathan and he continuously made everyone laugh. The teachers couldn't get mad at him...who could? Jonathan definately made those boring high school classes tolerable. As a teacher now, I hope to have a classroom full of Jonathans. The ring family, you will always be in my prayers. I know that he is looking down on us everyday trying to make our boring days tolerable.

The Weber Family’s hearts go out to you from Germany.

Dear Nannette & Laura, Bill & Adam, and the entire Ring family.

I am deeply shocked and saddened by the news. I will never forget the little 10-year-old blond boy whose infectious grin could – and would - always make me laugh… and make me forget in an instant that he had just bathed me with his water gun, or made me fall into the mud on my inline skates, or pulled another of his never-ending pranks on me in that long ago summer during which I called Friendswood my home.

Jonathan, I deeply regret never having gotten to truly know the wonderful man you must have grown into, judging by the many loving comments by those who did.

Be safe – wherever you may be.
And lots of strength to those you leave behind.

I am very sad for your incredible family at the loss you are enduring. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. The service was very, very nicely done. After the slide presentation which was very well done, I wished even more that I had known him as I have met many of the others in your family. Some I know more than others but all are impressive individuals.

I have also never met Adam; he did fantastic job. He obviously loved his brother very much; I don?t know how he kept his composure. His brother would have been very proud. What a mature, well spoken, young man.

It sounds like Jonathan was just as incredible in other ways unique to him. I am very sorry for your family's loss.

Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To the Ring Family,

Jonathon continuously blew me away with his kindness. He recently congratulated me on my three years clean and I don't know that it could have meant more from anyone else from high school. His memory alone makes me strive to be a better woman. I will keep the entire Ring family in my prayers. You raised, brothered, and sistered an absolutely amazing young man. He will most definitely be missed. God Bless You.

Jonathan hurdled through life with speed and agility. I guess somehow he felt that to keep the candle burning at both ends you needed to outrun the wind. Someone up there decided it was time for him to rest a while.
