A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at Brooks Funeral Home chapel with David Bird and the Rev. Jack Mumford officiating.
He graduated from East Carolina University, was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity, past president of N.C. State Board of CPA Examiners, served on the N.C. Revenue Laws Study Committee and was admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.
Survivors include his wife, Shiron T. Jones; a daughter, Amanda Taylor Jones; and a sister, Gail Susan Owens of Wilson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
