Dear Dad,
How the years have passed and the older I get I often reflect on the things you used to say and taught me. Words of wisdom and values such as honouring your word and being your own person. You were true to your word an honourable man who always kept his promise and was true to himself. Life values that are timeless, but not always so common in individuals. Thank you for having been that very special person.
Love forever here and beyond Karen

Dear Dad,
Missing you sooo much. The older I get the more I can understand the wisdom and experiences of life that you so willingly shared. That can only come from age and maturing. I was just speaking about you today and can't believe it has been 10 years since you left us for a better world of peace and tranquility. You will always be remembered for your courage, bravery, humour and no nonsense character. You left an impression upon every person that you met when most people go through life unnoticed. You always said what you felt, no candy coating. You are a star once again in the heavens above looking down on Mom and all of your loved ones and forever protecting them on this physical plane. Love you always Dad, Karen

We will always miss Max. He was a beautiful human being, full of life, warmth and intelligence. Alan will miss the discussions on history which they both enjoyed so much.
We, along with his granddaughter, Rebecca, will see Max as the brightest star in the sky.

carissimo Nino
ti abbraccio insieme a Becky,David Leslie e Karen

During the seventies sailing the Adriatic sea, there were two brothers, one was my father, THE CAPTAIN, the other was my uncle as me, at the same time son and nephew, we were THE CREW.
Above the surface of the sea as in the harbours, we have had wonderful moments that today is sad to say impossible to spend together. For istance some instants can be to sum up in short sentence:
CAPITANO, MI ME SBARCU GHE I BULICI A BORDO means moment in whom oncle Nino left the boat as shown in picture attached,
I RECLAMETTI PER I PESCETTI remember of a gigantic dinner of lobsters paid by oncle Nino in Piran’s restaurant.
Both the brothers, made the wish that their ashes were spread away in the sea, for me the younger remained will be the dearest memory all the times I will see a sea or the ocean to think about them.
CIAO, VI VOGLIO BENE
WITH ALL MY LOVE
RENATO

Max will always have a special place in my heart, for if not for him, I would not be a Cappetta. He introduced David and me in 1995. I learned so much from him about all things Italian! He was larger than life, and is deeply missed.

You have always been his hero.
Stringo i tuoi cari in un grande abbraccio, Marisa.

A FATHER AND HIS DAUGHTER

Karen Cappetta-Beliossi

November 7, 2010

I can hardly believe that Dad has left us. This photograph was of his visit to Vienna where we had a lovely time together admiring the great art and enjoying Hungarian gulasch and palatschinken in the infamous smokey coffee shops scattered throughout this enchanting city.
I went from his baby girl to a young woman and metamorphosed into the woman that I am today. I always felt protected by him and always will.
A Father's relationship to his daughter is a unique one. In our adolescent years we feel overprotected sometimes to the point of suffocation, but when we mature as women we get it. We get why a Father thinks no man is ever good enough for his baby (the good news is my Father greatly respected and cared for my husband,Giovanni, so we jumped that hurdle successfully!) We get why a Father is almost obsessive about knowing our whereabouts and when we arrive at every destination. we get why a Father becomes defensive when anyone contests his girl.
Even though I am 47 I will always be my Father's little girl and for that I am eternally grateful and now that I am the proud Mother of an Indigo child I totally get it.
Thanks Dad for being a loving Father and thanks for the journey.
Your Baby Always, Karen

I am thankful to have known Max Cappetta. I met him and his lovely wife through their daughter, Karen, my dearest friend. I was honored he referred to me as his 'adopted daughter.' I am even more grateful that he touched—even though briefly—the lives of my two children with his passion for history. He was an excellent teacher!

To his children—Karen, David and Leslie—he nurtured in you loyalty, success, dedication and compassion.
To his son-in-law, Giovanni; daughter-in-laws, Pat and Kelly—he loved you as his own children.
To his grandchildren—he left a legacy of living life to the fullest the right way and never to forget your heritage.

Finally to Mrs. Cappetta, his beautiful, devoted wife...and best friend of many years: you were and shall always be his 'bella prima donna.”

In sincere sympathy, I ask God's mercy to comfort you all during this time.

We Love You,
Cynthia, Benny, Omari & Nailah Russell

Sorry to hear of Max's passing. I worked with him for many years at Peltz Marine and love to hear the stories of his many travels. I was very impressed with his knowledge of different languages.
Peace be with you,
