Hugh's Obituaries

Hugh Carnathan, Sr., 76, of Elizabeth Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and pets on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. He was born June 23, 1939 in Elizabeth and was the son of the late Hugh and Ida Belle Parsons Carnathan. Hugh was a retired Chem Tech from the Production Planning Dept of US Steel Edgar Thompson Works and US Steel Clairton Works. He was a US Navy Veteran and was a member and past president of EFAA where he also coached wrestling, baseball and girl's softball and football. He enjoyed spending his summers at Mountain Pines Resort in Champion. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Catherine M. Danaluk Carnathan, sons, Hugh (Antoinette) Carnathan of Elizabeth Township, Steven Carnathan of Gig Harbor, WA, Michael Joseph Carnathan of Elizabeth Township, and daughter, Colleen (Dan) Altavilla of Greenock. He was the proud Pap of Ashley and Dan Altavilla, and Maya Carnathan. He is also survived by his godchild, Adrienne Revetta and his beloved dogs, Molly and Finnegan. There is no visitation.
