Anita Frances (Turner) Johnson went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2025.

Anita was born November 5, 1932 in Cumberland to the late Pauline F. and Richard H. Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Johnson; son, J. Randy Johnson; and her brother and his wife, Richard E. and Angela Turner.

Anita is survived by daughters, Rebecca K. Brewer (Rodney) and Priscilla M. Dolan (Jeffery); grandchildren, Rachel Brewer (Conor), Jonathan D. Brewer, Sarah Brewer Bates (Naomi), Nathan Dolan (Christie), Jessica Shrout (Tim), and Mariah Dolan; great-grandchildren, Dan, Jaden, Susie, Enid, Danika, Rider, Carley, Charlee, Daisy, Blake, Jackson, and Nyla; and brother-in-law, Ron Johnson (Doris). Anita is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She loved all of her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them, especially while playing table games.

Anita graduated from Fort Hill High School class of 1950, married Ray in 1952, and earned her nursing degree in 1953. Anita was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her late husband lived in Kentucky, then Ohio where their children were born, Pennsylvania, and finally moved back to Cumberland; she worked as a registered nurse in each of those states.

Anita served God wherever she lived and attended church. She and her husband were members of Davis Memorial Global Methodist Church for 57 years. Anita loved camping and traveling with her family throughout the United States.

Anita became a member of the Queen City Civil Air Patrol after her son began taking flying lessons. Unfortunately, Randy lost his life in an airplane accident in 1973. A Civil Air Patrol scholarship was established in his memory.

The family wishes to thank caregivers Shelly, in Cumberland; Sherry and Luretta, in Rising Sun, who lovingly helped her in the last few years; as well as the dedicated and compassionate Home Care and Hospice staff from UPMC - Western Maryland.

Visitation will be at Davis Memorial Global Methodist Church on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Seth Wharton officiating. Interment will be in Hyndman Cemetery, Hyndman, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the scholarship in Randy's name: QCCAP, c/o Cumberland Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, 165 Terminal Loop, Wiley Ford, WV 26767. Donations can also be made to Davis Memorial Global Methodist Church, 14300 Uhl Hwy, Cumberland, MD 21502.
