Deborah Lynn Doubek Hernandez March 5, 1955 – September 18, 2025
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Deborah Lynn Doubek Hernandez, beloved wife of Alexander Hernandez II, and devoted mother to Megan Sarnowski (Adrian) and Nicholas Palumbo (Jacqueline). She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother through her marriage to Alex, joining a blended family, and a beloved sister and friend to many. Debbie passed away peacefully at her home on September 18, 2025.
Born on March 5, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, Debbie was the eldest of six children and the loving sister of David, Alan (Marialuisa), Richard (Jacqueline), Christopher (Kristen), and Jeffrey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel, and her mother, Jeanette.
Debbie was known for her warm heart, infectious laugh, and most of all, her sharp wit-always quick with the perfect comeback. A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, Debbie was never without her team spirit. But more than anything, she cherished her time with family and friends. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by those she loved, and her legacy lives on in the stories, traditions, and laughter she leaves behind.
Debbie's presence was a gift to everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A private ceremony will be held for immediate family. While the family will honor Debbie in a private service, all who knew and loved her are warmly invited to join us for a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gaelic Fire Brigade, 10627 S Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL 60655. Please come and share your stories, laughter, and memories in her honor.
