Wright was visiting the club with a friend who was celebrating his 21st birthday. A former coworker remembered Wright: "Jerry was a great guy to work with. He was quiet but really wonderful with all the guests. He always had a smile on his face."

Dear Wright Family,
You may not remember me but I was the flight attendant on your trip home to Miami following Jerry's death. I think about you often and have kept you all in my prayers. With the upcoming anniversary of this tragedy, I wanted to let you know many of us continue to hold you in our thoughts and prayers.

I think about Jerry and miss him everyday.I had the opportunity to know him as a friend and a coworker.Jerry was the type of guy who always made you laugh and smile even when you were having a good or bad day.I know he is watching over all of us and being our guardian angel each and everyday. Our family has wonderful memories of young neighbor Jerry. He would always wave to stop and chat, and share his stories and plans in a very grown-up manner. 'Jerry for President'- we would say! Halloween trick-or-treating was a big adventure for the 'gang' from the neighborhood. When he obtained his driver's license - what teenage joy! We always remember Jerry's smile and happy presence.

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Jerry when he came into my office looking for a new home. He always greeted me with a big hug and searched me out after I was moved to different locations. He had a pioneering spirit, was a great cook, had a tremendous love of animals. He was a bright light that was taken from us far too soon. So terribly sad.

The very first time I remember seeing Jerry was when I picked up a shift at the Emporium, I remember thinking to myself how ugly the brown costume looked but then I saw Jerry and thought, well he makes it look good. Coming from MK Strollers / Package Pickup I had several opportunities to talk to Jerry and he was always friendly and always had a smile. He will be missed terribly but his magic will always be remembered.
