Broadway's Tribute to Elaine Stritch

The lights of Broadway went dark in July to honor the memory of Elaine Stritch, one of the greatest players who ever graced the Great White Way. Now the Associated Press is reporting on an all-star tribute, Everybody, Rise! A Celebration of Elaine Stritch, today at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. The AP report lists Nathan Lane, Lena Hall, Holland Taylor and Liz Smith among the star-studded lineup, and according to Playbill.com they will be joined by Bernadette Peters, Patti LuPone, Hal Prince and several others. Tickets are still available for this afternoon's performance, but act quickly if you want to see what the New York Post called "the toughest ticket on Broadway." Donating to the Elaine Stritch Scholarship Fund at the Stella Adler School of Acting may help, but just like live theater, there are no guarantees.
