Rose Caliente Obituary

MONTVILLE - Rose A. Caliente, 84, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at Hospice of North Jersey, Wayne.

Mrs. Caliente was born Nov. 11, 1923 in New York City, the daughter of Angelo and Christina Zullo Timpone. During World War II, she worked at Callide Tungston of Union City. She also worked for Sears Roebuck and, for 20 years, operated the Valet Shop at the Park Sherman Hotel in New York City. She was a devout Roman Catholic who enjoyed her family, her friends and cooking.

Her husband, Aniello "John" Caliente, died Jan. 27, 2001.

She is survived by her sons, Andrew and his wife, Alice, of Northampton, Pa., Angelo and his wife, Connie, of Pompton Lakes, John and his wife, Sande, of Roxbury and Michael of Pompton Lakes; her daughter Constance "Cookie" Reed and her husband, John, of Stockholm; her brother, Anthony Timpone of Hudson, Fla., and sister, Catherine Giannone of Hauppauge, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, Aug. 25, at 9:15 a.m. at the Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main St., Lincoln Park, to a 10:30 Mass in St. Thomas More Church, Fairfield, followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Blessing to your family. I am so sorry I could not attend the wake with my mother. I loved my Aunt Rosie so much as everyone did.
