To the family of Uncle Doug Eaker:
May the peace of God be with you as you remember His life! So good to have met him and Lena at Wake Rehab just a couple months ago. My mom is Sara Anne Smith (Thompson). Her mother is Neva Mae Eaker (Smith). So Doug and Lena Mae were her Uncle and Aunt. Mom has good memories of growing up with you in her life. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Eaker family. We know that you have years of memories - remember to continue to share them with each other. I remember reading the F-V Messenger article about Mr. and Mrs. Eaker at Pearl Harbor, Dec 7th and I was so proud to tell people I KNOW this MAN....A true American Hero with his Hero Wife. He is sitting at the feet of The FATHER now .... what a homecoming that must be!! Thank you Russ and Debbie for sharing your parents (both sets) with us...We are very blessed to have all of you in our lives.

Aunt Lena Mae,

We will always treasure the memories of times spent with you and Uncle Doug. The family reunions you hosted were always wonderful and I can just taste Uncle Doug's barbecue...the best in the world. We must also mention your delicious and one-of-a-kind pound cake that's right up there with his BBQ. We
also remember the poker games and great conversations around the table. We will miss Uncle Doug but take comfort in the knowledge that he is no longer suffering and his smile lights up the heavens.

Love, Audrey and Grif Griffin
