Kimberly Rae Kendrick

Kimberly Rae Kendrick, of Apex, NC, passed unexpectedly on January 31st at the age of 56.

Kimberly is survived by her children, Ahny and Cory. Additionally, her Father, Ray, her sisters Pam and Amy, Niece Madison, Nephews Dustin, Brandon, and Will, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Marlene, whom she missed deeply.

Kimberly was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on April 25th 1969 to Raymond and Marlene Kendrick. She attended both Penn State University and the University of Colorado at Boulder where she earned a degree in Mathematics and would later earn her national board certification in mathematics during the early 2000's. Kim started her began her education career in Jefferson County Colorado and would then go on to teach Math at several Wake and Orange County schools throughout her 21-year career in education. During this time she brought one daughter and one son into the world (Ahny and Cory Hunter) who were her sole focus in life.

Kim was a fiercely devoted mother and loving owner of two dogs (Wester and Nubie). In her youth, she enjoyed playing many sports and would eventually play Volleyball for the University of Penn State. Her later years were spent researching her family lineage and spending time outside with her dogs, working on her garden, and completing DIY projects. She was not only an educator but a true champion for her students, often taking time before and after work to tutor/mentor students in hopes they would reach their full potential. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, students and work colleagues.
