Burke Hudelson Obituary

Burke Anthony "Tony" Hudelson Tony went home to his Heavenly Father on March 21st, 2009 following a motorcycle accident. Born Nov. 24, 1954 in Boise, Idaho, he was the youngest child of Burke and Suzanne Code Hudelson. He attended school in Nampa, and graduated from Nampa High School. Tony always had a genuine love for animals and had many pets from birds to dogs to horses. He was a member of the Eh-Capa bareback riding club from 1965 to 1968 while growing up in Nampa. In 1977, Tony toured nationally and internationally with "Up With People" He attended the University of Idaho and was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, graduating in 1979 with a Bachelor's degree in Radio and Communications. Tony had a genuine servant's heart and was happiest when he was helping others. He was a member of the Bogus Basin National Ski Patrol, a Boy Scout leader, and a faithful servant at Church of the Harvest in Boise. He worked as a banker most of his adult life. Tony was employed by West One Bank in Jerome, US Bank and Bank of the West in Boise. He was most recently employed with Capital Educator's Credit Union in Kuna. He is lovingly survived by his mother Suzanne Code Sullivan, his wife Clarice Homme Hudelson, his daughter Krystle Hudelson-Wengreen and son Kyle Hudelson, his sisters Mikel (John) Ward, Midge (Jay) Moore, Christopher (David) Green, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his loving pets, Sunny and Peanut. Tony was preceded in death by an infant sister, Marcy Joan Hudelson, his father Burke Hudelson and his stepfather E.L. "Nif" Sullivan. A public viewing will be held at Summers Funeral Home, 3629 E. Ustick Road, Meridian from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009. The funeral will be held at Summers at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2009. Burial will take place at Cloverdale Cemetery following the service. Tony will be long remembered for his appreciation of life, sense of humor, and his deep passion for skiing. His wife expresses her feelings and thoughts in the following poem: "If you could know what's in my heart, I'm sure that you would see How very much I love you and how much you mean to me. If you could know what's in my thoughts I'm sure they'd show you too, That life means so much more to me, because of loving you." My heart belongs to you Tony, for eternity. I love you. Clarice. Clarice and Kyle,
My thoughts and prayers are with you everyday. I remember Kyle and my son John growing up in boy-scouts together. Tony and my sons dad Luke were the boy-scout leaders for the boys. I drive by your street everyday taking my daughter who is 8 to daycare and look down wanting to stop, just not knowing what to say.

Today is Fathers Day.

I went on a motorcycle ride today with a few friends -- most of us fellow ski patrollers. We remembered Tony, Jared, Joe and spoke about them at our breakfast. We miss them. So I suppose we invited them on our ride up to Lowman and back to Boise.

For me this ride will be a Fathers Day tradition. It will be a memorial to these three great friends. They will be our Guardian Angels -- I know this because I believe they sent us a messenger today with a reminder. We took heed.

To Clarice, Krystle, Kyle and all of Tony's fine family, I wish you peace and comfort. Clarice has endured a difficult day, I know. Today is Fathers Day.

We remember you Tony Hudelson. Thanks for being here and enriching our world.

Dear Dad,

It has been over three weeks since you left our lives. Things will never be the same for me, leading a life without you in it still seems unbearable. I hope you know how much you are missed. There are so many "What ifs" and questions in my mind. I struggle sometimes wondering if you are with me and if you are ok and if you know how much I love you. As soon as those internal struggles arise I suddenly notice Canadian geese in the sky or I can hear them nearby and everytime it reminds me of you and in my mind it is your way of telling me things are going to be ok. It is like all "Goosey's" relatives are here to help me through this! Thank you for all you did for me. Miss you. Love you forever. I will always be your little girl.

Dear Hudelson family,
May I offer my condolences to you and your family at this difficult time.
I would like to let you know that The Idaho Statesman offers a free service to honor your loved one called “In Remembrance”. These short human interest profiles are written by an Idaho Statesman staffer and published on Sunday in the Local section. You can view previous profiles at www.idahostatesman.com/remembrance.
Candidates for the profiles, which are randomly chosen, feature a person from one of the local communities who has passed away in the past three months.
There are no qualifications, just the willingness of family and friends to share their memories about their loved one with the community. An informal photo may also run with the profile.
This is not an obituary but rather, a more personal reflection of each persons’ life and character, which may include quotes from a family members, friends or associates, as well as more detailed account of family relationships, special events, hobbies or personal experiences that helped shape that person's life and that of their family and community.
If you would be interested or would like more information, you may email Stephanie Eddy ([email protected]) or call 377-6481.

Dad,

I know that if you had the chance, you would have told me to go right back to work the next day after you left. I couldn't do that though. I was just thinking today about all the things I have done to make you proud and it will be a lot different without you but I am jumping back into the swing of things. I wen't back to work today for the first time since the friday I got a call from mom at work. I couldn't stop thinking about you but it was sure busy enough there where I was able to focus and help guests. Tonight is the last night of spring break and I go back to school tomorrow. I made you proud and I will continue to do that. Today was hard for peanut. Mom wanted to hear the ringtone set on the home phone for whenever you would call. You would always call five minutes before you got home to check and make sure the laundry room door was shut so the dogs wouldn't run out the doggy door when you opened the garage door. Everytime you called, peanut would hear that distinct tone and know that you would come home really soon. After hearing it today, he looked up at mom and was all anxious to see you. Then he kind of layed his head down and looked sad. This has been hard on all of us dad, it was so sudden that we didn't know what to do as a family. But nevertheless, its great to hear about all the wonderful things people are saying about you and your life in this guest book and I know without a doubt that it is all %100 true. It will be hard without you but me, mom, peanut, sunny, sue, krystle, mikel, midge, chris, val, cheryl, tom, steve, and many many others love you so much and miss you and I will never forget anything you lived up to and everything you stood for. Rest in peace dad.

With love,
Your son.

We offer our deepest sympathy. When tragedy strikes and takes the life of our loved ones, many cry out with great sorrow. Your tears are not unnoticed by the Creator of Life. Never was it his purpose for our human lives to be taken away. Although your deep pain will not easily disappear, prayer to God will bring comfort to you as you grieve. The Bible assures us God "is healing the broken hearted ones, and is binding up their painful spot." Psalm 147:3

I broke my leg skiing with Tony at Bogus Basin when we were both in Juinor High School. He was a fabulous skier and I am not surprised that he later was a member of the Bogus Basin Ski Patrol. He stayed with me that day as the Ski Patrol took me down the hill for medical care. Tony was a true Gentleman and I never heard him say a bad word about anyone. I am sorry for his family. The world needs more people like Tony.
