I JUST FINISHED READING CHESTER'S BOOK "CODE TALKER" MINUTES AGO. HE MAKES ME SO PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN. WHAT A MAN, WHAT A LIFE
May 23, 2015
My Dear Sgt. Nez: I had the great honor of meeting you in old town Albuquerque in 2006. Thank you and all your fellow code breakers from the bottom of my heart for being part of retaining our country's freedom for us as well as all other marines and all branches of service. The code breakers participation in WWII, however, shows the great willingness that the Navajo had to help our country (your country) retain our freedom! The Navajo Nation must be very proud of you, I know I am and I live on to tell your story. May you and all our service men/woman that have passed rest in peace.

Semper Fi. Your tour of duty on Earth is no longer. The Marine Corps and America was a much safer place having the Navajo code talkers volunteer their language and dedication to patriotism, loyalty and honor. Another fellow Marine has taken on the duty of guarding the gates of heaven. Stand tall , stand proud.

The legendary heroism of the Navajo Code Talkers will always live on. I promise to honor Chester Nez by telling his story so it is not lost in time. The sacrifices these brave men unselfishly offered and the horrors they endured are the very backbone of what makes this nation great. Many will answer the call only because of these heroes like Chester Nez. May God Bless the family, and I hope you are comforted in knowing that there are those who understand and fully appreciate what he has done for us and our nation. May this Warrior rest peacefully now in the Mansions of the Lord.
