Thank you for your service, your compassion and your love of this country. Having only shared brief sunset moments with you in Siesta Key each spring, I can tell you that you have inspired my two young daughters to love their country and those that serve her. Rest in peace.

I, along with Tom Treise, Alvin Frasier and Steve Davis met Capt. Styles at the 2003 Reunion of the USS Sea Devil in Norfolk, VA. We were from the 1960 era of the Sea Devil and talked with him at length. He was a gentleman, hero and patriot. I felt extremely honored to have met and talked to him and feel that was the highlight of the reunion in 2003. May God Bless and wrap his arms around him.

I had the privilege of meeting Captain Styles at the 2003 Sea Devil reunion. Our group was from 1960's era and Capt Styles sat and talked with us about our tours on board during that time frame. We found him to be a gentleman and we enjoyed his great sense of humor. I am sorry that I will not be able to have the pleasure of his company again.

I share the great loss of Capt. Styles with his family. My father was a crew member on the first three war patrols. The Capt welcomed my sister and myself at the last two reunions, and provided us with great insite into my father's past. I never met a better man than the Capt.

I never had the privilege of serving under the Captain but I came to know him at the 2007 reunion and was impressed by his dedication and was made to feel as if I had been one of his boys.I made the last two patrols of the Seadevil and the Captain accepted me as a crewmate. My sympathies to the family. Rest your oar Captain Styles.

I met Capt Styles at a Sea Devil Reunion. What a gentleman, he spoke at our dinner and gave quite a speach. I talked with him at breakfast the next morning and thoroughly enjoyed his company.
