Corinne Edith Davison, 87, of Lakewood, N.J., passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Fountain View Care Center, Lakewood, N.J.
Born in Bayside, Queens, N.Y., she resided in Freehold Twp, Wall and Jackson before moving to Lakewood. Corinne attended Hofstra University then later took numerous courses at Brookdale College to enrich her diverse interests. She worked for American Airlines prior to moving to NJ. While raising her four daughters, she became a Real Estate Agent for Danis Realty, Freehold then Century 21 Realtors, Manalapan. She also was an Appraiser for Anthony Smith Appraisers in Shrewsbury.
Corinne was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church, Bradley Beach, and donated her time in hospitals and to deliver food to the needy. She was a former Chair Lady of the Arts and Music Department of the Freehold Township Women's Club. She loved watercolor painting and was an expert seamstress. She was equally passionate about music, singing and square dancing. She was a long time member of the Liberty Oaks Chapter of the Sweet Adeline's, the Star Thru Squares, Lakewood as well as the Jersey Shore Promenaders. She loved to travel and became fluent in Spanish and French to support her adventures across North America and abroad. She preferred hotels but crisscrossing the US in her RV was her favorite form of camping out. She was predeceased by her first husband, Albert J. Bertrand, who died in 1988 and her second husband, Richard E. Davison, who died in 2014. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Leslie Ellen, in 1990.
Corinne is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Avis and Richard Barbour, Boca Raton, Fla, Kim and Kevin Sheehan, Leesburg, VA and Meredith Bertrand and Ralph Downs, Cream Ridge, N.J. She is also survived by her step-son and his wife, Robert and Beth Davison, Atlanta, GA. Corinne was the loving Grandmother of Sean Barbour, Emily Barbour, Kevin and his wife Allison Warren-Barbour, Michael and his wife Rebecca Barbour, Daniel Sheehan and Jessie Sheehan, and step-grandchildren Jonathan Davison and Lauren Davison and her fiancé David Warren, and Great Grandmother of Anya, Isla and Nixon Barbour.
Visiting will be on Thursday from 10-11 AM at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall, N.J. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, N.J. Memorial contributions may be made in Corinne's name to the Popcorn Park Zoo, 1 Humane Way, Forked River, N. J. 08731.
