Donna Spoolstra Obituary

DONNA R. SPOOLSTRA (NEE WYMA) LANSING, IL Donna Ruth Spoolstra (nee Wyma), age 77, of Lansing, IL and formerly of Roseland passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at VNA Hospice of Valparaiso. She is survived by her children: Len (Joyce) Spoolstra of Valparaiso, IN, Nancy (Jerry) Dykstra of Dyer, IN and Mark (Frieda) Spoolstra of Crown Point, IN; grandmother of six; and great grandmother of nine. Preceded in death by her husband, August Spoolstra Jr.; and sister, Judy. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Thorn Creek Reformed Church, 1875 E. 170th St., South Holland, IL with the Rev. Paul Eldridge officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Blue Island, IL. Friends may visit with the family on Friday at the church from 2:00 PM until the time of services at 7:00 PM. Schroeder- Lauer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Spoolstra was a longtime member of Thorn Creek Reformed Church. She was very active with many of the clubs and activities of the church. She loved spending time volunteering at such places as Rest Haven South, Holland Home and the Lansing Food Pantry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Valparaiso, IN or to Elim Christian Schools. www.schroederlauer.com
