Dennis Scroggin

SCROGGIN
Dennis Scroggin passed away on July 26, 2012 after a brief illness at the age of 78 years. He grew up in Helotes, son of Dr. Guy Scroggin, Sr. and Edith Caroline Johnson Scroggin. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated in the class of 1950, when he was only 15 years old. He then studied Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin until he enlisted in the US Army. After his military service, Dennis met the love of his life, Diana Patteson, and married her in 1960. He worked as a dairy farmer and later as the Pharmacy Manager at Patt's Drug Store in Alamo Heights. His dear wife of 50 years passed away last year. He will be sorely missed by his sons Patrick and Eric, daughter-in-law Shawn and loving grandchildren Jacob, Sarah, Amanda and Katherine. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law John and Jean as well as Guy and Mae and nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents and his brother Floyd. He was a man of few words but what he did say was usually worth listening to. He had the patience of a fisherman, the optimism of a hunter and the work ethic of a farmer.
