Rita E. Genereux

WOONSOCKET - Rita E. (Caron) Genereux 96, of Dana St passed away Friday, May 19, in Oakland Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center following a recent illness. She would have turned 97 this week. She was the wife of the late Oscar Genereux. Rita was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Clodomir and Bertha (Menard) Caron. She worked in the shipping department of Bonin Spinning for many years retiring in 1955, and was a longtime member of the St. Joseph's Senior Citizens.
Rita was a loving wife, mother, and sister, and is survived by her son Ronald Genereux of Woonsocket with whom she lived. In addition, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Theodore Caron, Aurore Guay, Bella Daignault, and Lucienne Coccoli.
Her funeral with visitation will be held Friday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Mendon Rd, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph's food pantry: St. Joseph's Church, 1200 Mendon Rd, Woonsocket RI 02895.
