Timothy McOlash Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 19 to Mar. 23, 2017.
McOlash, Timothy John (TJ)

Timothy John (TJ) McOlash died on March 8, 2017 after a brief illness. He is survived by his mother, Caroline, and his dog, Phoenix. He was preceded in death by his father, Bryan, and his brother, Bryan Jr (Chip).

TJ graduated from Albuquerque Academy. He attended the College of Santa Fe, majoring in film production. While in college he worked on numerous films produced in the Greer Garson Studios at the school. He worked for a time in Los Angeles, a highlight being attendance at the annual Oscar's awards ceremony. His work in media involved a stint as a radio host, as a television cameraman, as a photojournalist and a photographer. TJ's real passion was photography. One of his favorite jobs was photographing dogs for the webpage of a local dog grooming business-combining both his love of dogs and his love of photography.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel NE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in TJ's name to Joy Junction.

TJ was my childhood friend. My best friend. We met in middle school. We skipped school and waited in line for Return of the Jedi at 6:00 in the morning. We rode our bikes everyday, we got our motor scooter licenses together. We learned to drive cars and pulled each other around on our skateboards like Marty McFly. I told him a joke and he spit a mouthful of oranges all over me. I kicked him under the table once when he told my parents we were out looking for girls. He said "What are you kicking me for?" in front of everybody. We grew up and lost touch but once or twice a year, and I wondered why we haven't spoken in a few months. November 2 was always the day I contacted him to let him and his mother know I was thinking of them on the anniversary of Chip's passing. I didn't hear back from TJ today. I looked him up and found the obituary. For me, he died today. November 5 is his birthday. I'll light a candle just for him. I miss him now more than ever. I'm so sorry for Caroline. I'm going to go get that Christmas frisbee out now and cry a little more.
